La Scala Theatre Museum: frequently asked questions
Are there reductions or free entry?
The museum lists a reduced rate (ages 6 to 18, students, over 65, among others), family and group rates, and free entry under 6, for people with disabilities and one companion, and for holders of the Abbonamento Musei Lombardia and of the YesMilano City Pass, among other categories. Details are on the museum’s website (read on 24 October 2026).
Can I see the auditorium?
Yes, from the boxes of the third tier, but only when there are no rehearsals, performances or public events, and only six people at a time. The museum publishes a “Best view” page with the best time slots.
How can I go into the Theatre with a guide?
The museum offers its own guided tour of the Theatre, which lasts 60 minutes, from Monday to Saturday when there are no rehearsals or events. The museum says that only its own guides are authorised to take visitors into the auditorium. The tours on this site are run by other operators, and we could not verify whether they enter the auditorium, so read what each card includes.
Do I need to book, and how long does the visit take?
Individual visitors do not have to book. About 45 minutes are on average enough for the museum.
Can I take bags and photos, and are show tickets sold here?
Large bags and backpacks go in the lockers at the entrance. Photos in the museum are allowed without flash and for personal use only. This guide does not cover tickets for performances.
